This is a 2003 report from a NC Specialty Crops Program Project. It is posted for historical reference purposes.
On July 13, 2004 personnel from the marketing division of the NCDA & CS held a grape tomato taste testing at the Specialty Crops Field Day held at the Cunningham Research Station.
People participating in the survey were asked gender and age and were then asked to rate the five varieties of grape tomatoes as to sweetness, texture and overall ranking. They were then questioned on how often they eat grape tomatoes both in season and year round. The participates were asked what factor was most important in selecting grape tomatoes and if color played an important part of their decision in purchasing them. Finally, they were asked which of these varieties of grape tomatoes they would purchase if commercially available.
