Q: FUNDING AND GRANTS. I live in western North Carolina and want to start a breeding project for grain amaranth. Do you know where I can apply for a grant for a project like that?
A: The funding options that come to mind for you as a grower are Southern SARE-they have several different grant options. One just for producers, and a few others that you would have to team up with a county agent or professor for. Check out their website. Also, the WNC AgOptions program might be an opportunity for you.
