Collapse ▲7/24/2024 – Join us for the Industrial Hemp Morning on August 16, 2024 in Mills River, NC, hosted by NC State University’s Colleges of Natural Resources, and Agriculture and Life Sciences in Mills River, NC. We invite growers, industry professionals, academics, government agencies, NGOs, and all interested participants to an event focused on “Broadening Research, Industrial Development and Global Education” (BRIDGE) in Hemp Engineered Materials Production (HEMP).
Discover how this research can transform biomass into valuable consumer goods including fibers, composites, molded packaging, and agricultural ground cover, all within a sustainable circular economy framework. This interdisciplinary event will integrate insights from basic and applied sciences, addressing the complex socio-environmental challenges of industrial hemp production.
The US, historically a major hemp producer, has reintroduced industrial hemp production through the 2018 Farm Bill, offering new economic opportunities for agriculture and farming communities across our state.
Join us to bridge the gap between research, industry needs, and global opportunities in hemp engineered materials production (BRIDGE-HEMP). Connect with growers, seed suppliers, farmers, educators, scientists, industry professionals, policymakers, governmental agencies, NGOs, and stakeholders to shape a thriving hemp economy in North Carolina and beyond, focusing on maximizing the value of hemp extracts and agricultural biomass.
Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to the future of hemp innovation and sustainability. We look forward to your participation!
Location: Mountain Horticultural Crops Research and Extension Center, 455 Research Drive, Mills River, NC 28759.
