1/6/2022 – A USDA/AFRI Workforce Training grant brought together a team of experts from Global Agricultural Development Corporation, Durham Technical Community College, and NC State University to develop a short, practical, certificate program to train new workers for the growing high-tech greenhouse and hydroponic horticulture industries. This hyrbid (online and main campus) 3-Step Bio-Agricultural Readiness Program is being offered through Durham Tech. It includes classroom, greenhouse/lab, and hands-on internship components. The program can be completed in 6 to 8 months, AND there are scholarships being offered that will cover 50% of the tuition. For detailed information, visit the program webpage. There you will find links to online information sessions being held on January 12 and 25. The program starts on February 2. To talk to someone personally and to register, contact Ingrid Charles, Director/instructor at biotechce@durhamtech.edu or call 919-536-7200.
