Unusual New Fresh-Market Crops-2002 Report

This is a 2002 report from a NC Specialty Crops Program Project. It is posted for historical reference purposes.

PROJECT LEADER(S): SCP Management Team: Jeanine Davis, Bill Jester, and Nick Augostini
LOCATION: Cunningham Research Station – Kinston, NC

A wide variety of ethnic and unusual vegetables, herbs, and flowers were grown at the Cunningham Research Station to educate growers about new crop opportunities, to educate the consumer about specialty items, and to provide the marketing specialist with product to take to potential buyers. This study serves as the preliminary testing area for future products and is always the most popular stop on the Specialty Crops Program field day.
