5/25/2021 - We got an amazing response to our spring research update with requests for more frequent updates with lots of photos. So, today we commence "A Day in Pictures," brought to you today by Margaret Bloomquist, research associate.

Harrowed soil in a truffle orchard — To encourage more mycorrhizae growth in our old black Perigord truffle orchard (filberts) we ripped the soil 6 inches deep with a harrow. The filberts in this orchard were cut to the ground early this spring in an effort to get better control of the Eastern Filbert Blight that had finally moved into this orchard.
