Union County 4-H programs allow young people to engage in various projects in agriculture and environmental science ranging from topics focused on veterinary science, biotechnology, raising and training animals, forestry, conserving energy, and conserving the environment. Young people (ages 5-18 year old) can participate in these different projects through clubs, projects, and additional opportunities.

The Forestry, Wildlife, & Environmental Education 4-H Club is available for any child between the ages of 8 to 18 years old with an interest in forestry, wildlife, and their environment. This hands-on 4-H club meets once a month in Monroe with various topics including habitats, birds, trees, sustainable shelters for animals, and so much more. **Currently accepting new members**

Foxwood 4-H Horse Club

The Foxwood 4-H Horse Club is an equestrian club for children between the ages of 5 to 18 years old with an interest in horse husbandry – knowledge and riding. You do not need to own a horse in order to join this 4-H club. This 4-H club meets once a month in Monroe with various topics ranging from responsibility and care of a horse, horsemanship skills, how to train a horse, understanding safety precautions to prevent injury to yourself and others, and many more.

Union County Ranchers 4-H Club

The Union County Ranchers 4-H Club is a livestock club that meets once a month on a Tuesday evening with activities focused on all things livestock including care, nutrition, and showing a livestock animals ranging from chickens to cows. Young Riders 4-H Horse Club

Young Riders 4-H Horse Club is one of the longest-standing 4-H clubs in Union County to date. The club is for young people ages 5 to 18 years old with an interest in horse husbandry. Members of this club have competed in horse bowl, hippology, artistic expression, and horse shows (district, state, and region levels). This club meets once a month from August to May. **Accepting new members**
