Extension’s 2022 Small Fruit Sale is getting started now! We will take orders through March 4 2022.
This year’s offerings include apples, peaches and figs as well as strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries grapes and muscadines. Asparagus crowns will also be available. For the first time this year we are also offering a new selection, the tayberry. This bramble fruit is a cross between and blackberry and a raspberry with large purple fruits. It grows much like a blackberry or raspberry.
Orders may be placed by calling our office at 764-9480. Order forms can be found on our website at burke.ces.ncsu.edu. You can also request a form to be mailed out to you or you can come by the office and pick one up.
These plants have been chosen specifically because of their suitability for growing in Burke County. We also provide care sheets and planting information with every purchase and there will be knowledgeable agents available to answer any questions.
All orders must be pre-paid and pickup will be drive-thru again this year. Pick up days will be March 23 and 24. It’s still winter but spring will be here before you know it so start thinking about purchasing some small fruits for next year’s garden.
