Join us at 6 p.m. on March 22, 2021, at the N.C. Cooperative Extension of McDowell County office located at 60 East Court Street in Marion to learn more about our latest 4-H club opportunity.

Youth ages 5-18, who are interested in becoming involved in a 4-H Youth Livestock program, are invited to attend the upcoming McDowell County 4-H Livestock Club interest meeting. This meeting will be a chance to learn about the current opportunities 4-H Youth Livestock programs have to offer, as well as allow us to gauge the interest for future opportunities. The McDowell County 4-H Livestock Club will meet monthly and provide educational programs for youth of all ages. These programs will be focused on the four major livestock species, cattle, sheep, goats, and pigs but at times, will explore other species that are of interest to the group. You do not need to own livestock to be part of this club or benefit from the educational programs. If you are interested in learning about basic animal science, livestock production, showing livestock, knowledge-based livestock competitions, and much more, we encourage you to attend this meeting.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, we ask that you please RSVP by March 19 if you plan to attend so we can make appropriate arrangements to ensure the safety of our participants. You can RSVP by calling our office at 828-652-8104 or by emailing our Livestock Agent, Tom Devine at tom_devine@ncsu.edu.
