A Forest Farming Success Story

2/28/2020 – Forest farming and growing native woodland botanicals make up a large part of my research and extension program, and I work with colleagues and organizations across the eastern US on these efforts. But because of how long it takes to grow these plants, it is challenging to show what kind of impact we are all having on farm income and conservation of our native plants. So I was excited to find an article this morning about our Appalachian Beginning Forest Farmer Coalition Project and a cooperating farm that is successfully growing and selling woodland botanicals!
