Emerging Threats to NC Forests: A U.S. Forest Service Perspective, Oct. 22, 3–4:30 p.m.
Our native forests are increasingly being challenged by the introduction of new insects, diseases and invasive plants that impact the health of native trees. Two U.S. Forest Service experts, Ryan Blaedow, a plant pathologist, and Paul Merten, an entomologist, will present the latest information on these emerging threats and what can be done. $12.
 
Paper & Pencil: Make a Sketchbook and Get Out & Draw: Oct. 30 & 31, 9:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
In this 2-day workshop participants will spend the first day making their own sketchbook with bookbinder Chad Alice Hagen. On the second day, watercolor artist Jane Voorhees will be the guide in using the new sketchbook. We will explore a variety of fun sketching techniques & tools and then we will get out and draw around Bullington Gardens. $120 + $25 materials fee. Limit 10.
 
Care of Indoor Plants, Nov. 6, 3–4:30 p.m.
Indoor plants add an interior landscape feeling to our living spaces. If you enjoy growing house plants or are just trying to get over that brown thumb then this program is for you. Extension specialist Craig Mauney will get you the information you need on all the cultural practices to keep your plants healthy indoors year-round. $15.

Wreaths, greenery, amaryllis, poinsettias, holiday crafts as well as our annual open house with a review of the year in pictures.
